A Brief History
The Refrigerated Warehouse and Transport Association of Australia Ltd (RWTA) has been at the forefront of the industry since its inception in October 1993.
Our dynamic association emerged from the amalgamation of the Cold Storage Association of Australia (CSAA) and various state-based cold storage associations.
The CSAA had a rich history, spanning over fifty years, dedicated to establishing industry standards, promoting research, and advocating for the cold storage sector across numerous governmental and professional platforms.
Recognising the intrinsic link between cold storage and refrigerated transport, members of these foundational associations saw significant value in creating a unified body. This strategic move was aimed at enhancing dialogue and collaboration between these interdependent sectors. Today, the RWTA serves as a pivotal forum where industry leaders and companies gather to discuss prevailing conditions, share insights, and shape the future of cold storage and refrigerated transport in Australia.
As a representative body, the RWTA not only advances the interests of its members but also champions the broader objectives of the industry, ensuring that it continues to evolve and respond effectively to both domestic and international challenges.
